Volunteer of the Month – April 2025

Josephine Lessard

👏🤩 Announcing our newest volunteer of the month for April, Josephine! Congratulations and thank you for volunteering in our library. Here is what she has to say about her experience:

“This month marks my one-year anniversary of volunteering for MinibiblioPlus and it’s been such a pleasure coming every week to help out. In the time I’ve been here, I’ve learnt plenty about working in a library and taking care of books, from organizing with the Dewey decimal classification system to preparing specific orders about gardening or beach vacations. All in all, I take pride in being an active member of my community and getting books to the little readers everywhere!”

Book of the Month – April 2025

📖🐲🌮 This imaginative story explores the surprising favorite food of dragons: tacos of all kinds, from chicken to beef, large to small. If you’re planning a party and hope to attract dragons, an abundance of tacos is a must. However, one important rule must be followed: never serve spicy salsa. Even a small taste can lead to disastrous consequences. This beloved book offers a humorous yet cautionary tale about friendship, planning ahead, and the unexpected outcomes of overlooked details.

Volunteer of the Month – March 2025

Abril Rivera

🥳👏 Announcing our newest volunteer of the month for March, Abril! Abril has gone above and beyond her weekly Storytime sessions, making time to participate in Special Events and always bringing a bright energy to her readings. Here is what she has to say about her experience:

Volunteering at Minibinlioplus means feeding off the imagination of young children.

Not only am I learning how to bond with them, but I am also bringing out my inner child. Minibiblioplus’ initiatives are a great start for incentivizing children to read from a very young age and develop their language skills. I have also been surprised at the kind of patience and empathy I have for them, especially when I pay attention to their little thoughts and expressions as we go through our readings.

The kids look forward to seeing me because every reading session is a fresh new adventure!”

Volunteer of the Month- February 2025

Claudia Pateras

👏🤩 Congratulations to our latest volunteer of the month for February, Claudia! Claudia’s smiles and fun stortyime animations bring the children much happiness and joy with every reading. Here is what she has to say about her experience:

“I became a volunteer at minibiblioPLUS last summer when looking for opportunities to read to children. I was delighted to discover this wonderful organization that allowed me to share my passion of reading, just as I had done with my nephews when they were little. It was one of my favorite activities with them: to delve into new worlds and bring them alive with different voices and sound effects, and to witness the joy, laughter and wonder that it brought them. Those were special moments that every child should experience.

My volunteer sessions at a local daycare have been so much fun. It’s very gratifying and touching to see how happy and excited the children are for story time. And the staff members are amazing and very welcoming. It’s been a wonderful experience that I hope others will explore. I want to thank everyone at minibiblioPLUS for their kindness and support, and to underline the amazing job that they’re doing to support literacy in children, which is extremely important for the development in all facets of their lives, and which will help open doors both personally and professionally.”
